Our SuperGirls!

The girls dressed up as superheroines today. Jia decided that she was Super Speller Girl and that people had to do whatever word she spelled at them. She ran around shouting, "S-T-A-Y!" and things like that. Her superpower also involved giving lots of hugs.

Willa, on the other hand, turned into more of a villain when wearing her supergear. She mainly pretended to claw at us while laughing maniacally, "BWA-HA-HA-HA!" Then she'd say, "Cry!" so we'd cry and then she'd run and give us a blanket.

They make us laugh!

Signs of Spring

This butterfly was a nice sign of spring!

(Please ignore the marker arm...)

And some St. Patrick's Day cuties:

Ahhhh, warmth!

It hit 63 degrees today! How completely lovely and unprecedented for this time of year! We enjoyed it with family outside at the park.

And a few pictures from the past few days. Jia has been very interested in marriage lately...

She also realized that Chinese dresses are pretty fancy! She wore this here when we were in China with her. I can't believe it still fits her! Granted, it was huge on her then, but still!

Jia has spent a good deal of time reading to Willa lately too. I'm glad they both enjoy it!

More Jia and Willa-isms

It's a wide variety this time...

Jia brought me her Snow White dress. She asked me to sew up a small tear on it. She was okay with it taking a while because, she said, very seriously, "I can't wear it every single day. People might think I'm really Snow White."

Willa ran up to me carrying her lovey, blanket and a doll and said: "Lovey's in love!"
Me: "With your baby?"
Willa: "Noooo [using a "you silly Mama" tone]. With my blanket!"

[I had to document this because it was so thoughtful.]
Jia: "I feel bad for Willa. She didn't get to see our special new year dragon parade at school."
Me: "I know, she sometimes misses out on stuff because she's so little."
Jia: "Oh, I know what we can do! We can play school! Willa can be a kid! We can make a dragon and have a parade!"
Me: "That is a wonderful idea!"
Jia: "Yes, I'll get it all set up like school!"

Jia: "What will I do if I meet my husband when I'm 16?"
Me: "Then you'll know him a really long time before you get married."
Jia: "But Sleeping Beauty got married on her 16th birthday!"

Willa: "I love Jia. I love Mama. I love Baba. We a FAMILY!"

[Note: Willa loves to play night-night and turn off every light in the house, particularly in rooms where I'm working.]
Willa to me, pushing me to go away: "Mama, leave me alone time, kay?"
Me: "Why? What are you going to do?"
Willa: "Turn all lights off!"

Jia (after repeatedly complaining about her medicine): "The medicine helped! Even though I didn't like it. My body said thank you. I just didn't hear my body when I was taking it!"

Me: "Girls, I'm going to go make some eggs for breakfast." [Willa loves eggs.]
Willa: "Great Mama! Best Mama WHOLE WORLD!"

Kid at Jia's school to Jia: "Why don't you speak Chinese?"
Jia: "Because I'm American!"

Jia: "When I grow up, I'm going to be a dentist, a mama, a doctor, a nurse, an acrobat...and CUTE!"
