We decided to risk a bike ride downtown on this rainy day and luck was
with us! We stayed dry! We visited the stunning Guthrie and played at a
new park. But the highlight for the girls: self-serve flavors for their
snow cones!

forgot to wear shoes.

Happy Mother's Day!
Sending mother's day wishes to my mom, sister, the girls' birthmoms, and all other amazing moms!
Willa made a sweet (and funny) project at school for me.

Landscape Arboretum
Just us and 38,000 tulips. Plus some fort-building, planting, and
bird-watching. (And a thousand other people.) Thankfully, it's a big
place.

Festival of Nations
The Festival of Nations was about eating yummy food (Lebanese,
Thai and French), spending allowance money, watching a fabulous
Taiwanese dance, and seeing friends!

Cascade Falls
Day Trip Stop #3: Cascade Falls. We stopped here on the spur of the
moment and it was the girls' favorite spot of the day. We hiked up and
down 132 stairs (we had a contest and counted) and were rewarded with a
fantastic view and play area behind and in front of the falls. Lots of
mud was involved and we all had a great time.
Interstate Park
Day Trip Stop #2: Interstate Park in MN. We had planned to hike at
Interstate Park along the St. Croix River and I had carefully selected
our hiking trails. We arrived at the park, found a coveted parking spot,
and paid our entry fee. We then asked the ranger about the trails and
she hadn't heard of any of them...because we were at the wrong park! We
wanted the other Interstate Park across the river in Wisconsin. (This
was just after leaving an interminable lunch at the hottest restaurant
ever...) We made the best of it and saw some pretty views anyway!
Franconia Sculpture Park
Day Trip Stop #1: Franconia Sculpture Park. We may have a new
favorite place! We were surrounded by acres and acres of creativity. And
many sculptures invited play! We brought along pads for sketching our
favorite pieces, and got to see an artist at work. We'll definitely be
back!
