Camping Trip

Jia just returned from her three-day camping trip dirty, tired, hungry and wearing the same clothes she wore when she left.

Her chores: Scooping llama poop, stacking hay bales, feeding animals.

Favorite things she learned: Fire-starting, lumberjack toilet paper, and the word "biffy."

Incidents: Falling into leech-filled pond while retrieving water sample.

Verdict: "I already miss it."

Current activity: Falling asleep while in the middle of eating. Up next - a shower!

A beautiful night for a bike ride around Lake Harriet with neighbors, and for a fox sighting!

Remix and Redo

Willa had so much fun helping with our latest upcycle project: a Lego table with storage for her room.

And both girls enjoyed this toy remix. Willa saved up her allowance to buy a special purple dragon toy for her doll to ride (from the Ever After High series) and was disappointed when she found out it wasn't available...so she bought another dragon, and some paint and bling and elbow grease did the trick!

 

 

Marguerite and Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all moms! Especially to my sweet Grandma Marguerite who passed away yesterday. She taught me how to sew, always made confetti angel food cake for my birthday, and gave the best hugs ever. We have determined that the "Marguerite hug" will be our family hug from now on. Thank you, moms, for your gifts of time and love!
