Clouds, Temporarily Visible

We went to the Weisman Art Museum for their cloud exhibit. It was fantastic!

We always like their regular pieces too. Here, you can eavesdrop on people in the various units (sensor triggered) in the replica apartment building.

This is right before Jia turned around and accidentally leaned on this piece. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's a day for a relaxing brunch, making Valentine bark, choosing a new manatee to sponsor (our traditional present), and toasts to love.

Year of the Monkey

We celebrated the Year of the Monkey tonight at the Taiwanese Association's Lunar New Year party. There was juggling, ribbon and fan dancing, a lion dance, erhu music, Monkey King puppets, and red envelopes. And I won a door prize - a $10 red envelope which paid for my dinner! We always enjoy this event.

Faribault Woolen Mill

Our tour today at the Faribault Woolen Mill showed us the art of a well-made product! Their items involve 22 steps from shearing the sheep to store placement. They make everything from military blankets to specialty patterns for Ralph Lauren and have been doing it for over 150 years!

Giving hearts

For the 100th day of school, Willa had to complete this phrase: "I wish I had 100 dollars! If I had 100 dollars, I would buy..." She crossed out "buy" and wrote "give to charity because some people need it more than I do." Jia also just donated half her piggy bank to the Humane Society. Love their giving hearts.

Luminary Lit Trails

Possibly my favorite thing in all the world: Skiing through the woods on luminary-lit trails followed by cocoa and toasted marshmallows.

Big Snow

It's been coming down since before noon. Today is about snowball fights, snow forts, front yard sledding, maple snow taffy, cozy couches, kind neighbors who clear your walk, and big hopes for school being off tomorrow.
