Jia's birthday day

Here's a little recap of Jia's birthday day (the actual one - Monday). The text of pages follow:

"Jia's 3rd birthday started with a breakfast smoothie. She then decided that she needed her fancy jewelry on for opening presents... In addition to the playsink she received earlier, she got a scratch-n-sniff book, a book about dinosaurs, more foam soap, her own tube of lotion and a jar of peanut butter (which she can now eat according to her doctor)!"

"Jia's big present was a sleeping bag with her name embroidered in it. She loved it!" and "She even took a long nap in it later that day!"

"Jia, Willa, Grandma and I went to Como Park on the morning of Jia's birthday. We visited the butterfly tent. One landed on Jia's shoulder! A sure sign of good luck in the year to come!"

Mom-isms

Here are a bunch of things I'd never dreamed I'd say:
  • We don't drink the dip.
  • We don't eat the bait.
  • The rule is that we only brush our teeth two times a day. (Jia has switched to pink sparkly fluoride toothpaste and loves it, so I'm worried about her getting too much fluoride.)
  • Your banana melted on your bottom?
  • You can't have any mushrooms until you're done with your ice cream. (Jia was eating her dessert and eyed some mushrooms but we were at a buffet-style restaurant and didn't have room for any more plates on the table...)
  • We don't stamp the bottoms of our feet with ink to make tracks around the house.
  • A glue stick is not lip gloss.

Bye Bye Paci Hello Pandy!

Here's more of what we've been up to...

The text says, "Jia arrived permanently attached to her pacifier. She stopped using it during the day after a bit, but it always comforted her at bedtime. We eventually decided that she could start using her nuks in a different way. We went to Build-A-Bear and she stuffed them inside a panda bear. She recently remarked "I'm all done with nuks!" We are so proud of her."

Note: Thanks for all the nice comments on my Corn-on-the-Cobcake. Jia woke up the other night and said, "I had a good dream last night, Baba! I dreamt about my cupcake!"

Jia is 3!

I'm so far behind in my blogging I don't even know where to start...so for today, I'll just say "Happy 3rd Birthday to Jia!"

This morning Jia jumped up and said, "I'm a lady now!"

A tad bit controversial

Yes, yes. I know this is totally polarizing. I thought a lot about the propriety of having a baby wear a political shirt, and then I thought, "Oh, who cares. It's funny." So yes, Sarah to answer your question, I made this in my shop for Willa (and other interested folks), and yep, she's getting political. I'm sure at some point my kids will tell me to stuff it and I'll listen to them.

The best part is that instantly after I put this shirt on Willa, what did she do? Spit up.

Note: We're back from vacation now. Trip pics will be posted soon!!
