Birthday Fun

We spent my birthday at the new Bell Museum. Then Willa convinced me that we needed to go to Denny’s for dinner so I could get a free birthday Grand Slam! Ha ha! It was a great day!

Falconry

Today we experienced something totally new - a falconry class! We visited a mews where we met an incredibly beautiful Eurasian Eagle Owl along with some hawks and falcons. Then we held a Saker falcon, and witnessed amazing Harris hawk flight demonstrations. What majestic birds!

Colorado Family Fun

Exciting Colorado

Far scarier than the zip lines or suspension bridges was the crazy off-roading ride straight up the side of a mountain during a thunderstorm after we were rescued from a lightning shelter. It was an exciting first day in Colorado!

 

A teenager!

Although it has felt like it for a long time, today is the first day we actually have a teenager in the house! Happy 13th birthday to our compassionate, feisty, one-of-a-kind Jia!

Camp

Love seeing little peeks of Jia at camp when they post pictures. Sailing, lanyards, archery, hanging out in the woods...it's all so campy!

Summer nights

A bald eagle, a bouncing bullhead, a big-bodied spider, a bit of flooding along the road to get here, a beautiful sunset and a bunch of sunnies. Not a bad way to spend a summer night!
