Many people have asked about our Taiwan adoption process. Here are the basics:
The babies are first placed in a facility staffed by medical professionals. They are then placed in foster families. The babies are typically referred at a very young age, often under three months. After the referral, the child's file travels through the court process for a series of hearings. The approval of the adoptive parents by the birth mother is frequently part of the process. Adoptive parents regularly receive photos, videos and medical updates while they wait.
We are thrilled that our second daughter may have the chance of knowing her story and her birth family, and hope dearly that we are able to meet some of her relatives when we are there.

I am sooo excited for you guys! Can't wait to follow along. Some day we MUST get our girls together.
We'd "heard it through the grapevine" that your Taiwan adoption was proceding quickly and Stewart and I couldn't be more thrilled for you! What a blessing! Hope to see you guys soon, Heather and Stewart
How exciting to be starting another adoption!! We used to live down the block from you and ran into Joe & Jia not long ago at the grocery store. We are still awaiting our second referral from China. Much slower around this time than the first! Congratulations to you all!
Thanks for the comment on Sophie's blog. We would love to do a playdate sometime! Maybe we will even see you at FCC CNY! We'd love to hear more about Taiwan too.
Jane,
Your Jai is beautiful. We also have a Hubei Hottie. I would love to add your site to my site to follow another one of Miss Talicee's sisters.
Congrats. on the new little one. Every little girl should have a playmate.
