We're outta here!

We are set to fly out early tomorrow morning. I've been trying really hard not to worry about the winter storm that has hit us. When we booked our tickets I thought "at least snow won't be a problem." Boy was I wrong! We deliberately left a long layover in San Francisco so hopefully that will help us a little if our flight is delayed, and it appears that we're missing the worst of it so far.

Jia and I spent the entire day today in our jammies. We listened to her Wiggles CD, specifically the 'Where is Thumbkin" song, about 50 times. It's a song about fingers. Jia noticed that the Australia-born singer says "point-ah finger" instead of "pointer finger." This led to much discussion about the evolution of language that was far beyond either of our capacities.

Because Taiwan is called the "Kingdom of Butterflies" we bought some garish cupcakes that we thought Jia would enjoy. We were right on that one!
