Muriel is also allergic to almost any bug bite. Bees seem to be the worst - but still localized like poor Jia. I do give M benadryl per the dr. to help w/ itching and stuff. Keep it clean and gooped up. I didn't on the first one M go - and she's got a nice scar to show for it.
I think just about everyone is allergic to Mosquito and other bites -- that's why they leave a bump and an itch -- but I seem to remember reading something prior to our China trip that Asians tend to react much more strongly to them.
Watch out, I hear we're supposed to get a bumper crop of mosquitos this year.
Poor Jia!! I hope the swelling goes away FAST!! I didn't know about the possible Asian connection so I'm glad you posted this in case Brady reacts this way.
Oh that is just terrible-Kendell got a bee sting in the eye, and cheek when she was 2 1/2-looked just like that-it is unfair how some kids have to react to this stuff-there probably is a connection for our kids-Tyler seems to be a bug magnet too! Blessings to poor Jia
Bless her heart!! She doesn't even look like the same child. My middle son has a severe reaction to mosquito bites and they LOVE him dearly. It's definitely no fun.

this happens to our kids, too. do you think they're allergic to mosquitoes? i wonder if i should be giving them benadryl for it?
poor, sweet baby girl... she looks like she's been in a fight... is the benadryl helping???
Oh no...I swear I think there is an Asian connection as all the little ones I know react like this. Hope she is better soon!
Oh my goodness! Poor thing. I have never seen anything like this. I hope the swelling goes down QUICKLY!
{{{Hugs}}} to Jia.

Poor, poor, Jia! I think there is an Asian connection too. Kyan reacts so terribly also. Hope things get better with poor Jia's eye.

Oh my!! Hugs to Jia!!!! Does it itch really badly? I used to react the same way to mosquitos... thankfully I outgrew it and hopefully she will too!
Ouch and how miserable!! :( Poor little Jia! Hope she is feeling better and the swelling is down!
Ouch! Jade reacts just the same way to mosquitos and black flies. She had three on her face awhile ago and her eyes were almost swelled shut too...
