Lakes, ponds and wildlife

We have had some fantastic lake time with the kids as a family. The first lake we visited was gorgeous, calm and nearly all our own. A bald eagle was hunting there and kept swooping over everyone in the water. It felt like the perfect Minnesota afternoon.

You can see the bald eagle at the very top of this photo.

The second great beach day was at a more popular spot. Super fun as well.

The girls also spent some quality lazy time with Grandma and Grandpa by the pond.

Last weekend, I went for an early morning open water swim with some friends who are training for a triathlon. We went to a lake nearby (in the city of Minneapolis, not a suburb) and I noticed an animal streaking across the streets faster than I've seen any animal ever move. A coyote! Hope it found a better spot to roam.

What fun! We can't swim in any lakes here due to alligators and it is so sad because we have so many. We love when we visit anywhere up north and actually swim in a lake. You are very lucky! Coyote!!! Yikes!! That would freak me out.
