What a day! We know everyone wants pictures but our Web connection won't allow us to upload photos for some reason. We'll try again later!
We drove from Taipei to TWCA, our Taiwan agency. It is in Fongyuan toward central Taiwan. We went to her foster mother's home to meet her. Willa was completely wide-eyed. She didn't fuss a bit but we could tell she was very curious about what was going on. Her foster mom told us that she is very calm, easy to soothe, and likes to cuddle! We then went back to TWCA and had a very touching meeting with members of her birth family.
Afterward, we hopped into the van, Willa made the littlest peep and then fell asleep instantly on me for the two-plus hour ride back. She awoke when we reached the hotel. We gave her a bottle and she drank it faster than anything we'd ever seen! We later changed her diaper and she started rolling all over the place! Very quickly at that! She's teething up a storm and wants to chomp on us nonstop. She is much bigger than we anticipated so many of the clothes we brought don't fit her.
After a few hours with us, Willa started grieving a lot. She gave us plenty of smiles earlier though and we can already see her easy-going nature. We hope we are able to soothe her better soon.

Congrautulations Jane and Joe! What an amazing day to meet the foster parents AND some of Willa's birth family.....a day you will never forget as long as you live! Can't wait to see pictures! Enjoy every minute of this bonding time!

Many congrats! It must be heartbreaking to see her grieving for her foster family, but it really is a good sign and I'm sure you'll soon figure out what comforts her best and be seeing those beautiful smiles again.

Oh, it sounds like a wonderful first day. It is amazing how different it is from our China experiences with meeting the birth and foster families..what a gift. Can't wait until you can load those pics!!!
