If I had a camera...

...I would have taken a picture. But I didn't, so I drew one instead.

This is the scene of us at the park the other day. Actually, it was shortly after I had posted about Willa's monkey-like behavior. Willa had been going down a tall slide, and she had been doing it just fine, i.e. climbing up the stairs and going down the slide. Then, I looked up and saw her swinging out from a bar placed over the slide. It was WAY over my head and I couldn't reach her. (It wasn't as high as I drew it but it certainly felt that way.) I told her to get down. You can read her reaction. (Click to enlarge.)

Why do they put those bars there anyway?? Needless to say, once I got her we left immediately. After this, I tried to sign her up for circus class but she has to be two, so we'll have to wait a bit.

(Please feel free to critique my art all you want. I'm crafty, but when it comes to art, not so much. In fact, in high school, my teacher had me write a paper to pass my sculpture class because I was incapable of actually making a sculpture, but I digress.)

This is the funniest post ever Jane!! I'm actually going to make sure Tom sees it too : )

And I agree, WHY are the bars so darn high?????

Good to know the circus starts taking kids at two . . .

On the contrary, stick men art is very in right now. You got your point across beautifully. Poor Willa - off to the circus - too cute!! Hope all is well!

What a hilarious post!! Very creative and great art work, I think. That Willa, I can't believe she said that, too funny:)

I agree also, why the bars? It is just too tempting.

Oh my, this is hilarious!! The fact that you drew it out is too funny! But I definitely have the picture in my mind. Yes, I'm with you. Why on earth do they put those swing bars there!?! Especially the twisted slides that, when a kid swings, his legs are dangling 12 feet up over nothing?!? Kids have fun. Moms' hearts just race.

How terrifying! I can just imagine how you must have been feeling. Willa's reaction is hilarious, though! And why the heck do they put those bars there in the first place???
