Taiwan, Day 4: Kenting

Time for the beach! We drove to Kenting today. We are staying at the Chateau Beach Resort which is at the very bottom tip of Taiwan. On the way down, we stopped at another fabulous travel center along the freeway. The travel centers have a huge variety of stores and food vendors that we could explore for a long time. We crossed off another trip bucket list item - mochi. Jia loves mochi at home. (Our trip bucket list seems to mainly focus on food: shaved ice, tea eggs, xiaolongbao, scallion pancakes, etc.) Mr. Yeh bought the girls some mochi and Jia was delighted!

No pictures here, but I'm also happy to say that I've mastered the use of the squatty potty. This is important because sometimes it's the only option! The girls have thus far refused to try one and would rather be uncomfortable. :-)

We enjoyed the drive through Taiwan down to our ocean resort. There are so many mango farms!

We checked into our room and this is our view:

There was no one on the beach due to the high waves. Although the ocean was too rough for swimming, we spent hours splashing around.

Our resort has TONS of pools each with a different purpose. We donned our swim caps (required everywhere) and spent time swimming as well. It also has archery, hammocks, croquet, volleyball, mini-golf and crabbing at times!

This resort is huge and features very large buffet meals similar to our last hotel. We love seeing what is available! I think this will be a great place to hang out for a couple of days.
